This week I’ll be heading back to my alma mater to present a lecture on effective instrumental teaching and planning for learning for the Graduate School of Education.
The first session with explore approaches for learning in instrumental music with a demonstration lesson with undergraduate saxophone student, Joel Cassidy. It’s a golden opportunity to observe another teaching style and ask questions about how we teach and reflect on your own teaching practise.
The second session looks at curriculum design and assessment in instrumental music. It is a chance to learn about some powerful resources in music education and start thinking about the journey you want to take your students on.
